Tyngsboro, MA -- Quartet Technology Inc., manufacturer of assistive technology for those with physical disabilities, will have its Simplicity Series Environmental Control Unit (ECU) featured on ABC''s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition on April 11, 2004 at 8:00p.m. EST.

The episode will focus on the renovation of the home of Robert Gil, a young man left a C-5 quadriplegic due to a devastating car accident. The network chose to utilize Quartet''s innovative ECU technology in its home automation because of the device’s capability to assist individuals with severe physical limitation in gaining control over their daily activities. By a voice command or activating a switch, the ECU device allows its user to control the telephone, electric bed, thermostat, doors, lights, TV, computer, etc. from their bed or wheelchair.

"We are thrilled Extreme Makeover: Home Edition has partnered with Quartet Technology to improve Robert Gil''s lifestyle and are confident our ECU device will play an integral part in helping to restore Robert''s independence," says President/CEO Michael Rourke of Quartet Technology. "This exposure is also the perfect opportunity for people with physical disabilities, their loved ones, and industry professionals to learn more about how assistive technology can positively impact someone''s life."
