Read our Mission Statement
With all of the publicity centered around Christopher Reeve's accident this Association
has noticed a much greater interest in spinal cord injuries (SCI) within the general
public and because of this we are able to raise more funds and achieve higher goals.
The changes we have made within the past several years have been substantial and have included
a newly updated Resource Directory,
which goes out to all our new members free of
charge. This book has a vast amount of information, which consist of: health care
providers and facilities, councilors, adaptive technology, and more. It has 200
pages of invaluable data that has taken years to compile and is an ongoing effort.
Some other improvements have been the quarterly newsletter and our new website,
the revised Membership Fees and relevant information. We have expanded the boundaries
of advocacy issues and have pooled our knowledge and resources with other organizations
that support our mission allowing us to affect the community more strongly.
In addition we have broadened our Stop Trauma Programs. This is a team of people,
which include nurses, therapists, paraplegics, and quadriplegics that go to schools
and educate students on prevention and safety. We are in great demand at the moment
and gladly take every opportunity to inform our local community.
As you know, all of these improvements take dedication, creativity, hard work, time
and financial backing. That is why we need your support. We want to make a bigger
difference in and around our community and we can’t achieve this without your help.
Thank you in advance, for considering our Association for your tax-deductible
donation.
