Compressed Natural Gas Fueling Station Opens at Metro Taxi
Opening Features New Metro Access CNG-Powered, Wheelchair-Accessible Taxi Fleet. Metro Taxi, Connecticut’s largest, full-service taxi company, recently unveiled a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) fueling station and rolled out its new Metro Access wheelchair-accessible taxi that is powered by CNG. The taxi comfortably seats four passengers and includes space for two wheelchairs.

For the first time ever, the Sports Association is pleased to team up with the New England Nordic Ski Association in February to bring to you two Adaptive Cross-Country Ski Clinics right here in Connecticut! February 8 and 15 from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at the beautiful Winding Trails in Farmington. These clinics are dependent on weather, snow conditions and registrations.

GOV. MALLOY PROPOSES ADDITIONAL AGENCY CONSOLIDATIONS
Governor Malloy has proposed merging the Office of Protection and Advocacy for Persons with Disabilities (P&A) with the Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities (CHRO). The new agency would be called the Department on Human Rights, Protection and Advocacy. The P&A Director would continue to be appointed by the Governor. The CHRO Director would continue to be appointed by the Commission.

Ryan Martin instructs at the Ryan Martin Basketball Camp The mission of the Ryan Martin Foundation is to assist student athletes with disabilities with their life on and off the basketball court. Individuals with physical disabilities historically have a high rate of unemployment and are often less likely to attend college than their peers. The sport of wheelchair basketball opened many doors for Ryan, from attending Southwest Minnesota State University, to playing professional basketball overseas. It is the hope of his foundation to offer opportunites for others to succeed through education and sports. Read More...
