Compressed Natural Gas Fueling Station Opens at Metro Taxi
 Opening Features New Metro Access CNG-Powered, Wheelchair-Accessible Taxi Fleet. Metro Taxi, Connecticut’s largest, full-service taxi company, recently unveiled a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) fueling station and rolled out its new Metro Access wheelchair-accessible taxi that is powered by CNG. The taxi comfortably seats four passengers and includes space for two wheelchairs.

Gaylord Sports Association to host 2 Adaptive Cross Country Ski Clinics
 For the first time ever, the Sports Association is pleased to team up with the New England Nordic Ski Association in February to bring to you two Adaptive Cross-Country Ski Clinics right here in Connecticut!
February 8 and 15 from 1:00 – 3:00 PM at the beautiful Winding Trails in Farmington.
These clinics are dependent on weather, snow conditions and registrations.

CT Access for All: Wheelchair Accessible Taxi Initiative
In 2009, legislation was passed permitting wheelchair accessible taxis in the state of Connecticut and in 2010 Connecticut Clean Cities received a grant for alternative fuel vehicles from the Clean Cities Future Fuels Project, funded by the U.S. Department of Energy, allowing Metro Taxi and Yellow Cab to purchase 140 new wheelchair accessible CNG purpose-built taxis called the ‘MV-1’. Unfortunately, in October 2011, the CT Department of Transportation denied both applications and granted no additional permits!

The mission of the Ryan Martin Foundation is to assist student athletes with disabilities with their life on and off the basketball court.
Individuals with physical disabilities historically have a high rate of unemployment and are often less likely to attend college than their peers.
The sport of wheelchair basketball opened many doors for Ryan, from attending Southwest Minnesota State University,
to playing professional basketball overseas. It is the hope of his foundation to offer opportunites for others to

Online SCI Survey
A group of students in the Physical Therapy program at Quinnipiac University are conducting research on the
effects of adaptive sports on the quality of life in individuals with spinal cord injuries.
The survey should take 5-10 minutes.
